We are seeking an Executive Director who is enthusiastic about making Sasha Farm a better place for rescued, abused, or surrendered farmed animals.

Sanctuary and Safe Haven for Animals (Sasha Farm) has been providing a safe haven for farmed animals for over 30 years and has been a 501c3 nonprofit for 20 years. Currently, we have over two hundred animals including cows, pigs, potbelly pigs, horses, donkeys, mules, chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, an emu, and an OX.

Our mission is to provide a home to rescue and rehabilitate neglected, abused, and surrendered farmed animals. We are a completely vegan sanctuary, and we provide leadership by example in living a plant-based and animal free lifestyle.

Executive Director:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for SASHA’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of our mission. The ED will report to the Board of Directors.

Primary duties include organizational leadership, fundraising, marketing, fiscal management, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

These responsibilities and include:

  • Supervise the operations and staff of SASHA Farm
  • Direct the day-to-day business of Sasha Farm
  • Manage and develop Sasha Farm employees and volunteers
  • Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff
  • Expand and develop revenue-generating and fundraising activities
  • Actively engage Sasha Farm staff, volunteers, board members in strategic direction.
  • Active and visible in the community and work closely with other sanctuaries, civic and private organizations to enhance and improve the image of Sasha Farm and our mission.
  • Serve as primary spokesperson with staff, volunteers, supporters, donors, the media, and the public.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors


The Executive Director will be thoroughly committed to Sasha Farm’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching and relationship management experience.

Specific requirements include:

  • Knowledge and experience in caring for farmed animals
  • Ability to coach staff, manage and develop high-performance teams, set, and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Passion, integrity, cheerful outlook, mission-driven and self-directed

Physical demands/working conditions:

May include moderate to heavy work at times – lift from 30 to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, reaching, computers work and walking.

Able to work in all types of weather conditions.

Prerequisites for Employment:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Previous experience at a farmed animal sanctuary or animal shelter preferred
  • Pre-employment drug test
  • Criminal background check
  • Fully vaccinated for Covid 19
  • Vegan/Plant Based

Since 2001, we have been a non-profit 501c3 vegan farmed animal sanctuary. We provide housing, food and medical care for farmed animals rescued from abuse, neglect, and surrender. We currently have approximately 200 animals housed on 60 acres in Manchester, Michigan.
