Animal Alliance Asia Country Coordinators Job Description

*Although this is a remote position, It is required that the person reside in the same country as the position being applied for. For example if you apply for the position of Country Coordinator India, you need to be based in/residing in India for the duration of this job. 

Animal Alliance Asia (established in November) 2019 aims to build a more dynamic and effective animal justice movement in Asia by empowering, supporting, educating, and mentoring local individuals and organisations that are working for animal advocacy. We envision a world free of animal exploitation.


To achieve this goal we are looking for individuals with passion for animal rights and advocacy to join our team.

Position Overview

We currently seek Country Coordinators for India, Pakistan, Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Nepal, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong.

Country Coordinators will join our inclusive, diverse and dynamic international team, to work alongside our leadership team to coordinate programmes and cultivate relations with local advocates and facilitate growth in AAA’s network in your specific country through research, educational programmes and coalition building.

This is a high impact position, which holds potential for strategic thinking, innovative ideas, learning, and growth. You will also be encouraged to learn from other movements and create country specific plans and strategies.

How Will You Make a Difference?

Your responsibilities will include

  1. building and cultivating relationships with local advocates and organisations as well as managing the country based team.
  2. Analyzing the progress of our programme outreach efforts and map out the network and progress.
  3. Liaising with the leadership team on planning, developing and delivering international and country-specific programmes.
  4. Monitoring and implementation of AAA’s values and mission through the programmes for your country.
  5. Working to keep programmes on schedule and within budgets.
  6. Liaising with the Communication Team on marketing and communications for your country.
  7. Liaising with the leadership team on research projects and carrying out interviews and desk research as required by the projects.
  8. Designing and organising training(s).
  9. Delivering training as per project requirement.
  10. Building out country specific tream structures where and when required.
  11. Writing a quarterly report on country specific strategies.
  12. Supporting local organisations and individuals through the grant applications process.
  13. Supporting local organisations and individuals with their projects and initiatives.
  14. Train volunteer members for your country team.


Skills and Experience

  • Experience in organising and coordinating educational programmes
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in both English and your local language(s)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with a remote team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Thorough knowledge of the animal justice movement, and its nuances in Asia; experience of working in an animal advocacy organisation is a plus
  • Familiarity with DEI/the interconnectedness of issues.
  • Strong commitment to the vision and mission of AAA
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, and PPT), Google Suite (particularly Docs and Sheets), Canva, and Slack.

Terms of Employment: Freelance position, 3 days a week

Location: Remote (anywhere in the world). Our organisation is remote, with staff and volunteers in locations ranging from the UK to Asia.

Salary: $ 1920 / month
