Communications Associate


Bryant Research‘s mission is to reduce animal suffering, primarily by reducing the number of animals on factory farms. We conduct and publish social research and policy analysis with the aim of reducing consumption of animal products, promoting meat-free diets, and accelerating adoption of animal product alternatives. Our clients include alternative protein companies, academic researchers, and animal protection non-profits.


The Communications Associate will be responsible for a range of duties related to content and messaging. They will manage social media campaigns as well as project communications, and will oversee and creatively pilot the company’s public image. The goal is to support the organisation’s objective of reducing global animal suffering through engagement with the public, clients, and key individuals and organisations in the animal advocacy movement.

The Communications Associate will work remotely and part-time (2 days per week, flexible).

Key responsibilities

  1. Managing the organisation’s presence on Twitter and LinkedIn, including writing and scheduling posts, and connecting with relevant people and organisations.
  2. Communicating research findings to the public and the media, including writing blog posts, writing press releases, and contacting relevant journalists.
  3. Creating and maintaining a database of relevant people and organisations such as academic researchers, food companies, non-profits, policymakers, advocates, and others.
  4. Managing communications with research partners and contacts for specific research projects.
  5. Keeping up with important news, topics, and research within the animal advocacy movement and using this knowledge to inform communication strategies.

Candidate requirements

  1. The successful candidate will be permitted to live and work in the United Kingdom.
  2. The successful candidate will have a strong personal value alignment with the organisation with respect to reducing animal suffering.
  3. The successful candidate will have an enthusiasm for collaboration and communication with a diverse audience of individuals.
  4. The successful candidate will have excellent written communication skills, including strong grammar and attention to detail.
  5. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in communications, including social media, writing press releases, and working with journalists.
