Job Title: Chef

Location: Newington Green, London

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality plant-based and gluten-free dishes within the designated section.
  • Assist and apply health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain food hygiene practices to uphold our commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Monitor portion and waste control to minimize food waste and optimize cost efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Level 1 and 2 Health and Safety Certificates are preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year relevant experience in a culinary setting.
  • Familiarity with manual handling techniques and chemical safety.
  • Knowledge and experience with kitchen equipment and dangerous tools like knives.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Demonstrated ability to run a section efficiently and independently.
  • Strong oral communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of attention to maintaining quality standards.
  • Enthusiastic about self-development and contributing to the growth of others.
  • Openness to adapt to change and embrace new ideas and processes.
  • Approachable and maintains a positive attitude even in demanding situations.
  • Exhibits qualities of a team player, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time or part-time positions are available.
  • Primarily involves working during weekends and evenings as the restaurant is open to customers from Thursday to Friday, 17:30 to 22:00, and weekends from 13:00 to 22:00.

Team Structure:

  • The chef will work closely with the Head Chef and other section chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
