Overview

A rare opportunity for an experienced Trusts and Grants Manager to work part time from home for a dynamic, progressive global charity.

Animals Asia is a fundraisers dream.  This is an organisation which works collaboratively and successfully with programmes; where fundraising is understood, valued and celebrated.  Led from the front by an inspirational founding CEO who is loved and respected by donors and employees, there is an extraordinary sense of family here and a motivating, effective drive towards our clear vision.

Our three primary goals are to end bear bile farming, end the cat and dog meat trade and to improve the lives of animals in captivity, in particular by bringing an end to the use of animal performances.  We are pioneers in all these issues and each year we are making transformational, permanent and historic changes.  Just a few months ago, we signed an MOU with the Vietnamese Government to end bear bile farming entirely by 2022.  Fundraising here is as rewarding as it is exciting.

A rare opportunity to join the European and UK team has arisen by the creation of this new role.  We have an established network of trusts and foundations that are already supporting the charity.  We are now looking for a Trusts Fundraiser who can account manage them and spot opportunities for new, suitable trusts as they arise.

We run two bear sanctuaries in China and Vietnam, currently caring for almost 400 bears so there are endless opportunities for engaging cases for support, although you will really demonstrate your strategic competency and fundraising proficiency by seeking and securing unrestricted income too.

You will join a global team with colleagues in Germany, the US, Australia and Hong Kong who work closely together and will also be well supported by our ‘specialists’ team who will provide the content you need to fulfill your role including funding opportunities, images, video, costs and timings.

Working from home, you must be a self-starter, bringing endless enthusiasm, drive and initiative.  You will be a solution focused ‘can-do’ fundraiser who will see opportunities in every challenge and will always be able to shape a project from what is available.  As this role is two days a week, you can negotiate suitable hours that will suit your situation.  Demonstrable experience in Trust Fundraising is mandatory so you will not reach interview stage without it.

In return, you will get the chance to join a talented, passionate team in a forward thinking charity.  If you are vegan or vegetarian, you will find many kindred spirits here.   When people join the Animals Asia family, they very rarely leave.  To find out why, we look forward to your application.

Full candidate pack with application guidelines attached. Please quote reference TGF in the subject line.

Successful applicants will be contacted by email by close of business Tuesday 14th November.  Unfortunately we will not be able to respond to unsuccessful applicants.

About Animals Asia

Founded in 1998, Animals Asia promotes compassion and respect for all animals and works to bring about long-term change. We are the pioneers in ending the barbaric bear bile trade, which sees over 10,000 bears kept on bile farms in China, and, according to official figures, about 1,200 suffering the same fate in Vietnam.

Animals Asia has rescued over 500 bears, caring for them at its award-winning bear sanctuaries in China and Vietnam.

Animals Asia also works to end the trade in dogs and cats for food in China and Vietnam, and lobbies to improve the welfare of companion animals, promote humane population management and prevent the cross border export of "meat dogs" in Asia.

In addition, Animals Asia campaigns for an end to abusive animal practices in zoos and safari parks in Asia, and works closely with governing authorities to improve animal management and increase awareness of the welfare needs of captive animals.
