Overview
A rare opportunity for a Major Donor Fundraiser to realise their potential whilst working from home for a dynamic, progressive global charity
Animals Asia is a fundraisers dream. This is an organisation which works collaboratively and successfully with programmes; where fundraising is understood, valued and celebrated. Led from the front by an inspirational founding CEO who is loved and respected by donors and employees, there is an extraordinary sense of family here and a motivating, effective drive towards our clear vision.
Our three primary goals are to end bear bile farming, end the cat and dog meat trade and to improve the lives of animals in captivity, in particular by bringing an end to the use of animal performances. We are pioneers in all these issues and each year we are making significant, permanent and historic changes. Just a few months ago, we signed an MOU with the Vietnamese Government to end bear bile farming entirely by 2022. Fundraising here is as rewarding as it is exciting.
A rare opportunity to join the European and UK team has arisen by the creation of a new role. We have an extensive and established network of loyal, generous mid and major donors who are already passionate about our vision and work. We are now looking for a passionate Major Donor fundraiser who will provide them with an exceptional supporter journey to enhance their engagement and support.
This is a senior position in the UK team where you will be given the full remit for Major Donors and provide deputising support to the Director as required. You will probably have a similar current role in a smaller organisation or perhaps a mid-level management in a larger Major Donor team. This role includes the line management of a part time Trusts and Grant Manger and the opportunities to grow your team will be commensurate with your success. You will be given the freedom and scope to run your programmes autonomously, coupled with the support to grow and develop as required. We are looking for you to bring your skills to the table and let them shine through your results. Significant experience in a fundraising environment is a critical prerequisite – you will not be invited to interview without it.
Corporate partnerships will also be part of your remit so experience in this area would be a considerable advantage as this is currently entirely untapped.
You will join a global team with colleagues in Germany, the US, Australia and Hong Kong who work closely together using Skype and WebEx so you will need to be able to manage early morning meetings and late evening team calls as required. This is primarily a business development role so you must be a self-starter, bringing endless enthusiasm, drive, initiative. You will be a solution focused ‘can-do’ fundraiser who will see opportunities in every challenge.
In return, you will get the chance to join a talented, passionate team in a forward thinking charity with huge scope for skill development and flexible working. If you are vegan or vegetarian, you will find many kindred spirits here. When people join the Animals Asia family, they very rarely leave. To find out why, we look forward to your application.

Successful applicants will be contacted by email by close of business Tuesday 14th November. Unfortunately we will not be able to respond to unsuccessful applicants.

About Animals Asia
Founded in 1998, Animals Asia promotes compassion and respect for all animals and works to bring about long-term change. We are the pioneers in ending the barbaric bear bile trade, which sees over 10,000 bears kept on bile farms in China, and, according to official figures, about 1,200 suffering the same fate in Vietnam.
Animals Asia has rescued over 500 bears, caring for them at its award-winning bear sanctuaries in China and Vietnam.
Animals Asia also works to end the trade in dogs and cats for food in China and Vietnam, and lobbies to improve the welfare of companion animals, promote humane population management and prevent the cross border export of "meat dogs" in Asia.
In addition, Animals Asia campaigns for an end to abusive animal practices in zoos and safari parks in Asia, and works closely with governing authorities to improve animal management and increase awareness of the welfare needs of captive animals.
