Overview

Role of Promotion Assistant (Volunteer)

Every year we run a series of events, which can range from overseas challenges in Borneo, and conquering Ben Nevis, to a 5k dog walk and home-based quiz nights.

Each event is an important part of our fundraising strategy and is designed primarily to raise funds for the work of IAPWA.

IAPWA is run by a very small team of staff and volunteers, but we have big plans for project development. In order to achieve these goals, we ultimately need to raise more funds, by increasing our audience size and event participation.

The objective of this role is to help IAPWA to promote its events across a wide range of new audiences.

This may be promoting the events across your own social media channels, sharing information in your local what’s on guides, displaying posters in local community areas and asking local influencers to share the event information, for example.

The role is new and there is much flexibility for how you choose to promote, so long as it is appropriate and within IAPWA guidelines.

You will be supported by the Community Fundraising Manager, who will provide you with the event marketing materials and anything else you may need to promote IAPWA’s events.

About International Aid for the Protection and Welfare of Animals

International Aid for the Protection and Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) is a UK registered charity. Our mission is to create a better future for animals.

To achieve this mission, we run and support various projects all over the world. Some of our key work is within Borneo and Romania, where we rescue thousands of neglected and seriously sick dogs and cats, every year.

We run neutering and vaccination programmes to help deal with the issues of overpopulation. These programmes go on to reduce the spread of disease and the number of puppies and kittens born to suffer on the streets. We also provide urgent veterinary care for injured and poorly animals, and offer them safe shelter and food until they are well, and can be released or rehomed.
