Please note – administration, organisation, project management and social media are all key aspects of this position. I am seeking someone who has worked in most, if not all, of these areas for a significant amount of time. This must be able to be demonstrated through work experience detailed on your CV.

 

JOB TITLE

Assistant to Director

 

HOURS OF WORK

20-25 hours per week, to be agreed upon by the Director and Assistant.

Working hours are mainly flexible except for

  • A 1-1.5 hour meeting each week via video call at a mutually convenient time
  • A couple of hours work needs to be done very Monday

Commencing 15th June 2021.
LOCATION

This is a remote position so you would be working in your own home, using your own computer equipment.

 

HOURLY PAY

£10 – £15 (GBP) per hour, starting salary. The higher rate will be paid to candidates with a higher level of demonstrable experience.

Key areas of responsibility (Applicants must have work experience of at least 50% of the following)

  • Social media scheduling, commenting and messaging
  • Arranging group calls
  • Creating processes and procedures
  • Discussing strategy with the Director
  • Processing website orders
  • Checking written recipes and content
  • Newsletter creation
  • Email management / admin
  • Student liaison
  • Press liaison
  • Any other tasks that promote the school

As this is a new role and is involved in a new direction for the school other tasks are likely to be added to this list.

At the school we are creating a community that is fun but also highly focused on learning. Having a passion for vegan cooking and a reason for wanting to promote it, is crucial for this role. Other skills that are useful are visual creativity and attention to detail. Personality traits that are useful specifically for the Assistant are patience and tenacity to assist in the creation of platform-relevant attention-grabbing content, being calm and composed, a willingness to create an online community around the school. An enthusiasm and knowledge of vegan food and recipes is essential for this role. Knowledge of social media is desired for this role.

There is room to grow in this role and to gain promotion as the school grows. The school is evolving and so it can evolve with the skills and expertise that the assistant has. Having the confidence and ability to see how to improve the school and the student experience is useful for this role.
