About Us

BReD is an exciting ‘Award Winning’, 100% plant-based organic sourdough bakery and café, in the heart of Whistler, Creekside, one minute away from the gondola; in the area often referred to as the ‘Sea to the Sky Corridor.’

Launched in March 2019, Ed and Natasha opened BReD to combine a healthy eating experience, with sustainable foods and beverages in a modern and casual setting.

BReD is a very popular venue for visitors to the area and the local community and we have developed an online baked good service which has been extremely successful over the last year.

We are now looking for a talented, friendly, enthusiastic and Experienced Baker & Pastry Chef to join our crew.

– Salary of $18-$20 per hour (approximately $23-$26 per hour including tips)

The Role

As an Experienced Baker & Pastry Chef, you will prepare, bake and decorate all small baked goods to an exceptionally high standard.

Researching, creating and testing new seasonal products, you will be encouraged to release your artistic talent and produce quality organic sourdough and baked goods that really wow both us and our customers.

Continuing to express your passion for BReD, you will also take responsibility for setting up eye-catching, mouth-watering displays to showcase your unique creations.

 

Additionally, you will:

– Be responsible for opening the bakery in the morning

– Ensure the quality of the goods being used is up to par

– Maintain the high standards of cleanliness in the bakery throughout the shift

– Make note of when supplies are running low so that an order can be made

– Manage and develop an assistant and provide direction to other colleagues

 

About You

As an Experienced Baker & Pastry Chef, you will need:

– Previous experience of working in a professional high-end bakery or fine-dining kitchen

– Experience of managing a small team

– High standards in food safety, hygiene and cleaning

– A real passion for vegan baking and the ability to create delicious products on a daily basis

– To be a team player

 

This is a permanent, full time position working 35-40 hours per week. Your working day will be 4am – 12.30pm Wednesday to Sunday.

This role is suitable to any individuals already resident in Canada or who have an existing work visa expiring June 2022.

Please note, home bakers and line cooks need not apply.
