We are looking for a Food Prep Lead/Manager to be responsible for setting up workstations in the kitchen and preparing ingredients for the cooking process and overseeing the Prep Team. The Food Prep Lead performs basic cooking duties, monitors stock levels, and takes on culinary tasks as they arise.  You will delegate prep work for deli, meals and classes.  The goal is to be efficient and time sensitive to ensure a productive team. To be a successful Prep Lead, you should understand and be willing to comply with food and sanitation guidelines and regulations, be quick and diligent, and willing to improve on the job. You should be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.  Full-time salaried with benefits.

Duties & Core Responsibilities:

  • Following prep plan created by chefs.
  • Preparing all produce (and other ingredients) as specified by Head Chef.
  • Preparing simple dishes, such as sandwiches, sauces and salads.
  • Ensuring all food items are appropriately labeled, stored and easily accessible.
  • Assisting chefs in preparing food and attending to any culinary tasks that arise.
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen.

Vegas Vegan Culinary School & Eatery ("VVCS") will be the first women-owned, non-accredited vegan cooking school and deli in the US. Our 3,600 sq. ft. establishment will offer 40+ monthly classes taught routinely by our inhouse chef as well as by local vegan chefs, out-of-town chefs and virtual, in-house classes with international chefs. Our weekly meal prep will include 5 different meal choices to order in bundles and our deli/espresso bar will offer freshly made, take away or eat-in food/drink selections. Our hosted events, educational workshops and lecturer/speaker series will always focus on giving back to our community and bringing awareness to our animal welfare/sustainable efforts.
