Position Overview

Animal Alliance Asia (AAA) is seeking a Fundraising Specialist to work alongside our leadership team on the development, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive and diversified resource development program. The Fundraising Specialist role will involve a range of duties, from developing email marketing appeals and writing grant proposals, to optimizing and managing our development database and facilitating relationships with our prospective and current donors and other stakeholders.

How You Will Make a Difference
Key objectives include:

  • Oversee grant seeking including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop relationships with prospective and current donors and other stakeholders, and keep them informed about the work of AAA, for example by producing donor reports.
  • Meet prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis, as necessary, to establish effective communications with them.
  • Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors.
  • Direct the annual fund program, including mailings and annual fundraising drives.
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns and activities.
  • Regularly update the Executive Director and the wider team on the progress of projects.
  • Manage the fundraising database and tracking systems.
  • Advise on the creation of publications to support fundraising activities.
  • Stay on top of advancements and changes in the philanthropy community.
  • Over time, identify new potential income streams and create strategies to access these funds.

  • Experience in fundraising in a nonprofit organization
  • Experience managing a CRM database, managing records, and data analysis
  • Experience in securing grants from foundations, including crafting and presenting funding proposals
  • A track record of fostering relationships with potential and existing donors
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in creating email and social media campaigns
  • An excellent eye for, and commitment to, detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with a remote team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Thorough knowledge of the animal justice movement, and its nuances in Asia; experience of working in an animal advocacy organization is a plus
  • Familiarity with DEI/the interconnectedness of issues (human rights, conservation, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong commitment to the vision and mission of AAA

Terms of Employment: Consultancy (freelance)
Location: Remote (anywhere in the world). Our organization is remote, with staff and volunteers in locations ranging from the UK to Asia.
Salary: 25,920USD (for approximately 2.5 days per week)
