You will be preparing and cooking staff lunches for our kitchen and office teams. You will be serving approximately 130 people per day, using up surplus ingredients and dish components from our kitchen to ensure we are minimizing waste. There will also be some allowance for ingredients to be used from stock and small additional purchases where needed.
You will be semi-autonomous in this role, delivering a lunch service at 12 noon (for our day shift) and leaving enough prepared food for an evening service (for our night shift). You will also be responsible for preparing a lunch service for our offsite H&Q team.
You will also support our Process, Technical and Kitchen teams when required as part of the Food Ops team.
The role will be based at The Greenhouse (our production unit) in Blackhorse Road, London and will operate on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. This pattern consists of working four 12 hour shifts, with 1 hour of break time throughout the day, followed by four days off.
The scope and main responsibilities of this role are detailed below. This isn’t fully exhaustive but will cover the main elements for the first 6 months.
– Preparing and cooking staff lunches for our kitchen (chefs, warehouse team and platers) and office teams
– Having food either served or ready to be heated and served later at set times, twice a day
– Keeping your kitchen area clean, tidy and organised
– Preparing meals for our daily tasting panels
– Supporting the Process/Technical teams with trials where appropriate.
– Being creative and flexible with the menu to minimize food waste
– Thinking ahead and prepping as much in advance as possible
The salary for this position is based on our internal salary banding and is between £25,000 – £27,000 per annum, depending on experience.
