Job Title: Bookkeeper/Office Manager

Barn Sanctuary is seeking a Bookkeeper/Office Manager to support the program and administrative functions of the nonprofit with integrity and efficiency. The Bookkeeper/Office Manager will be responsible for recording and tracking all financial transactions in QuickBooks Online, running QB reports for the executive team, answering the phone and responding to email inquiries, providing ongoing HR support to new hires and employees, maintaining office supplies, and running the administrative aspects of the volunteer program. This position will also be the main staff point of contact for the annual audit.

The Office Manager must possess strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

We are looking for a self-starter who is good at setting up and maintaining processes in the most efficient manner possible. The Office Manager must be comfortable juggling multiple projects at once and working with numerous team members on any given day.. The role requires someone who is a quick learner, adaptable, enthusiastic, curious, hard-working, and meticulous.


  • Perform daily bookkeeping of all income and expense tracking
  • Support new-employee onboarding
  • Answer phone and email inquiries
  • Provide back-end tech support to the volunteer program
  • Work with the Development Manager to reconcile donor and donation tracking
  • Staff leader of the annual auditing process
  • Support annual budgeting process
  • Create monthly financial reports tracking actual income and expenses versus budgeted
  • Coordinate charitable state solicitation process
  • Coordinate logistics for all Board meetings and work with the Executive Director and Treasurer to produce financial dashboard for the Board
  • Maintain office/administrative supplies for the organization
  • Other duties as required


  • Complete COVID-19 vaccination as recommended by the CDC is required for employment
  • 4-year degree in a related field or applicable experience
  • Significant experience in Quickbooks Online, certification is a plus
  • High level of individual initiative and creativity.
  • You love technology. When technology is unfamiliar, you’re adept at learning it.
  • Clear communicator, with the ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of people in correspondence, on the telephone, and in-person
  • Highly organized person that loves numbers
  • The ability to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines consistently
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace
  • A natural lean toward getting to know people and communicating with them.
  • The ability to resolve practical problems with limited supervision and successfully within a team
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities
