Hello!  I’m a retired teacher, long time vegetarian, and founder of Ireland’s Green Party, and am looking for a live-in companion who would be happy doing around 20 hours’ outdoor work a week, such as gardening and log-splitting, in exchange for room and (vegetarian or vegan) board and a weekly stipend.  The ideal candidate would love nature, old houses, and books, and be in need of quiet time to write, do art or music, or reflect on the next phase of his/her life.

The comfortably restored Georgian farmhouse is surrounded by trees – there are over 70 species planted on the grounds. There is Internet access, a cat, and a piano.  Household duties, including cooking and cleaning, would be shared, as would the use of my car. No personal care is required.

If you have a valid driving licence, are 24 or over, and love reading and nature (the Slieve Bloom mountains are only twenty minutes away) then you might wish to join me this winter and perhaps stay to see the blossoms that surround the house in spring. I would welcome someone interested in gardening, and I have space available for you to do your own planting.

If you are interested, please tell me why this position would suit you, and possibly arrange a visit, by writing to: <bloomfettes@eircom.net>.
