Overview

Provides leadership in a small kitchen staffed with mission-dedicated cooks, including menu planning and execution, staff management and training. Must have effective communication skills and a willingness to model professional behaviors for staff. Must have experience and/or a desire to develop an awesome plant-based food experience on Cape Cod.

Tasks to include:

Menu planning;
Development of standards for plate presentation;
Development of restaurant policies and procedures around portion size, cooking method, quality standards, and kitchen rules;
Ordering;
Inventory planning;
Stocking and maintaining adequate levels of food at line stations;
Handling, storing, and rotating all products properly;
Food and labor cost analysis and management;
Creativity and innovation in menu development, consistency in application of menu;
Managing a team of up to 5 employees;
Complete or assist with prep, portioning, and stocking of daily pans;
Leading, training, and coaching staff to meet kitchen standards;
Perform side duties as required;
Lead the dinner service Wednesday through Saturday evenings.

Other Attributes:

Must be ServSafe Manager Certified.
Must have restaurant experience.
Plant-based culinary degree desired.
Be able to stand, walk, left, and work in hot and loud environment for long periods of time.
Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and easily lift up to 60 lbs.
