We are a 26 ft mobile surgery truck specializing in HVHQSN (High Volume High-Quality Spay and Neuter) surgeries and other soft tissue surgeries, serving mostly rescues and shelters. Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to animals in underserved communities while promoting spaying and neutering to reduce pet overpopulation.
We are seeking a hard-working and reliable veterinary assistant and driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for animal welfare. Candidates who share our commitment to a vegan lifestyle will be given priority.
Responsibilities:
-Assist the veterinarian and veterinary technician with all aspects of surgical procedures, including patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and post-operative care
-Drive the mobile surgery truck to and from locations, ensuring the safe transport of equipment, supplies, and team members
-Maintain accurate medical records and inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
-Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other team members
-Provide excellent patient care and customer service
-Assist with other tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the mobile surgery truck
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
-Commitment to animal protection and spaying/neutering as a means of reducing pet overpopulation
-Knowledge of veganism and its principles preferred
-Experience working with animals in a veterinary or shelter setting preferred
