Volunteer Fundraiser for International Aid for the Protection and Welfare of Animals (IAPWA)
Join team IAPWA and help to create a better future for Animals.
Role of Volunteer Fundraiser
Fundraising is an essential part of the charity’s strategy; it is what allows the projects to continue.
IAPWA is run by a very small team of staff and volunteers, but we have big plans for project development. In order to achieve these goals, we ultimately need to raise more funds, by increasing our number of Volunteer Fundraisers.
The objective of this role is to help IAPWA raise funds by holding fundraising events, both online and in person within your community (covid restrictions allowing).
There are many ways to fundraise, and what you choose to do will depend on your own preferences and locality.
This may be holding a regular car boot or workplace cake sale, or it could be by holding bucket collections at local stores, or even a monthly book club, for example.
The role of the Volunteer Fundraiser is to aim to hold 4 – 8 fundraising activities per year, and these can be any size event.
The role is new and there is much flexibility for how you choose to fundraise, so long as it is appropriate and within IAPWA guidelines.
You will be supported by the Community Fundraising Manager, who will provide you with fundraising information packs, IAPWA marketing materials and anything else you may need to promote your activities.
We are looking for someone who;
· Has an enthusiastic and proactive nature
· Has a passion for creating a better future for animals
· Has some experience of fundraising and running events, although this is not essential as we can help with advice on getting started
· Has good knowledge of their local area and community hot spots
· Has some knowledge of PR and marketing techniques, although this is not essential but will be helpful when promoting your events
· Is over 18 years of age.
If you think this role is for you, please get in touch for an informal chat.
By becoming a volunteer with IAPWA you will be welcomed into a community of like-minded proactive and dedicated animal lovers. You will have access to our Team IAPWA Facebook group, and a unique insight into the inner workings of an animal welfare charity.
About International Aid for the Protection and Welfare of Animals
International Aid for the Protection and Welfare of Animals (IAPWA) is a UK registered charity. Our mission is to create a better future for animals.
To achieve this mission, we run and support various projects all over the world. Some of our key work is within Borneo and Romania, where we rescue thousands of neglected and seriously sick dogs and cats, every year.
We run neutering and vaccination programmes to help deal with the issues of overpopulation. These programmes go on to reduce the spread of disease and the number of puppies and kittens born to suffer on the streets. We also provide urgent veterinary care for injured and poorly animals, and offer them safe shelter and food until they are well, and can be released or rehomed.
