Overview

We currently seek a director of fundraising campaigns to join our development team. In this role you will work to create and manage a comprehensive, year-round fundraising plan for digital and postal direct response, sustained giving, and giving days that will build, diversify, and engage our donor base in support of Mercy For Animals’ strategic plan.

 

You will do invaluable work:

  • Project manage a scope within our development department, including direct response, digital, and sustainer solicitations; end-of-year fundraising; and #GivingTuesday scopes
  • Grow our robust sustainer program from $90,000 in monthly revenue to $100,000 monthly by the end of 2024
  • Increase donor acquisition by 3% annually year over year for the next three years
  • Serve as the development team’s liaison to the digital marketing team to execute solicitations and fundraising campaigns
  • Project manage and develop sustained-giving program for maximum growth and retention
  • Oversee external vendors and fundraising partners in the execution of direct response fundraising campaigns and related fundraising support operations
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote donor growth and engagement in all areas of our fundraising campaigns
  • Collaborate with the social, impact, digital marketing, creative, celebrity, and communications teams to identify and source relevant and impactful content (including stories and active mission-driven projects)
  • Research and propose new processes or systems to best use Mercy For Animals’ resources to support fundraising campaigns
  • Collaborate with the vice president of development to define, track, and meet the monetary, participation, and qualitative goals for the program
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports on fundraising campaign metrics and revenue
  • Adhere to Mercy For Animals’ editing process and follow all language and communication style guidelines
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties assigned by team leader

 

Your qualifications will take our development team to the next level:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising or a closely related field
  • Track record of success in direct response campaign fundraising (digital, sustainer, direct mail)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in nonprofit management, public relations, communications, or a related field (preferred)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • High level of organization and efficiency
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work well independently and under pressure
  • Supportive team player
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet competing deadlines
  • Experience with Salesforce or other donor databases (preferred)
  • Commitment to the mission and objectives of the organization
  • Willingness and ability to take one required regional trip per year for the Mercy For Animals gala and one optional regional trip for a conference or professional development
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Mercy For Animals
