DESCRIPTION & OVERVIEW

The Dining Room Manager assists the General Manager in directing and organizing the staff of Moxie to ensure impeccable service. The DRM stands as a role model for all FOH staff and supervises the floor during meal periods to ensure that all standards and steps of service are met through all guests interactions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties, including guests and staff
  • Ensure that checklists, requisitions and proper opening and closing functions are being completed each shift
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the staff, including verbalizing menu specials, 86’d items, etc
  • Observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary
  • Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situation and/or heavy restaurant activity, serving as a role model for the FOH staff and other employees
  • Ensure that all steps of services as outlined in training materials are being followed on a daily basis
  • Interact positively with customers promoting Moxie specials, happy hours and events
  • Answer telephone in a clear voice, coordinate and document reservations, including private parties of 15 or more guests
  • Maintain rapport with bar and kitchen and attend relevant meetings
  • Ensure that all standards involving restaurant cash handling procedures are met
  • Understanding TOAST POS and acting as a guide for any questions regarding the functions of the POS
  • Ensure the restaurant is closed down properly, all lights and major appliances are turned off, all windows/doors are locked, and all employees have clocked out and left the premises
  • Assist the general manager with updating the POS with menu specials, 86’d items, and new menu items, and ensure that the POS is always updated in a timely manner

 

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

  • Make certain that all staff members comply with the safe food handling procedures
  • Engage customers is positive dialogue to ensure return business and take and resolve any complaints from them
  • Perform restaurant opening and closing activities
  • Keep track of inventory and relay supply needs to GM or bar/kitchen manager
  • Make certain that all fire, safety and health regulations regarding food preparation and serving is adhered to on a constant basis
  • Monitor front end presentation and ensure that restaurant service and quality standards are constantly met
  • Support General Manager in organizing marketing activities and promotional events on and off site
  • Prepare and create Social Media posts and other marketing material

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY

  • Thorough knowledge of Moxie’s Food & Beverage menus, basic drink service, supervisory aspects, service techniques and guest interaction
  • Considerable skill in math and equations using percentages
  • Ability to accomplish necessary tasks on a computer
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
  • Meet governmental regulations dealing with the sale of alcoholic beverages and safe food handling
  • Ability to lift heavy items and restaurant supplies

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
  • Possess great ambition to flourish within a demanding environment
  • Naturally gifted in delivering outstanding customer service on a daily basis
  • 3 years of experience working in busy hospitality establishments
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain staff
  • Create a great atmosphere and lead from the front with a positive attitude and possess realistic expectations
  • Open schedule availability (including weekends and holidays)
  • Ability to work overtime based on restaurant needs and events

We are a new restaurant in Colorado Springs that endeavors to fill the void of wholesome plant-based food in our community. Moxie is a full-service, plant-based restaurant and craft cocktail bar with innovative food and beverage menus. Our energetic gathering place features flavorful vegan fare, craft cocktails, beer, wine, coffee, and a variety of creative non-alcoholic beverages and caffeine-free hot beverages.
