Use your project management skills to change the world for animals! The PETA Foundation is seeking a driven Project Manager to join our team of supportive PMs, designers, developers, and QA professionals. We’re the technical folks responsible for building our websites, data systems, Salesforce orgs, and more, but we’re also compassionate people who support PETA’s mission to stop using animals for experimentation, food, clothing, or entertainment. Position Objectives: 

To lead medium and large web and technical projects and to provide support to other project managers and PETA and PETA Foundation staff members


What your day will look like:

• Managing multiple projects, of varying levels of complexity, scope, and budget. Projects will range from mid-size website updates to complete revamps, new mobile apps, CRM set up or upgrades, custom Salesforce projects, Engaging Networks enhancements, and more

• Driving key projects involving data collection and management of our supporters’ data across multiple applications

• Leading cross-functional teams of designers, developers, QA, marketers, and fundraising professionals to facilitate all phases of the project lifecycle

• Effectively communicating with the team and monitoring project progress

• Collaborating with teams to establish the technical vision for the project

• Developing project schedules and business needs, holding teams accountable, and bringing projects to successful completion

• Eliciting requirements from stakeholders and using them to create clear, comprehensive, and concise requirements documentation

• Identifying risks, creating mitigation strategies, and executing them

• Drafting product testing instructions for the Quality Acceptance team and user acceptance tests for stakeholders to independently test new and updated products

• Conducting training related to features and operations of products

• Implementing established procedures to keep all project materials accurate and up-to-date

• Completing project reviews and ensuring that lessons learned are shared with the team and applied to future projects

• Delivering excellent customer service to numerous stakeholders and requesting departments

• Always recognizing the work you do helps animals everywhere



• Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent work experience

• 5 years of experience as a project manager or business analyst in a technical field

• Knowledge of a variety of project management methodologies and tools

• Ability to understand the technical components of the projects being managed

• Demonstrated ability to gather project requirements through a variety of elicitation techniques

• Strong writing skills used to document requirements, draft project documents, and to communicate with teams day-to-day

• Excellent organizational skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal communication skills, including ability to lead meetings and present to small audiences

• Exhibits a high level of emotional intelligence to build strong working relationships and manage difficult situations, such as competing priorities within the PMO

• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at one time and to prioritize daily tasks based on project requirements and business objectives

• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment

• Commitment to the objectives of the organization



Bonus Qualities:

• Project management certification strongly preferred

• Experience as a project manager for web-based and mobile app development

• Experience as a developer or quality assurance technician

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Asana, WordPress, Salesforce, Google Analytics, or other similar platforms

• Knowledge of internet trends, development and design best practices, and related laws, as well as a high degree of self-motivation to stay abreast of new technology, tools, and methodologies
