About the PETA Foundation Development Team:

Our team is comprised of professional fundraisers who are the best and brightest in their respective areas. We come together to strategize and create engaging fundraising campaigns that will help spread awareness for animals in need and connect would-be philanthropists with opportunities to help. Position Objectives:

The Development Coordinator will be an integral part of the Development team, supporting a wide range of projects with colleagues across the Development Department. They will provide in office support as necessary for a variety of tasks, including data entry, correspondence, invoice processing, project research, and other administrative duties. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, organized, and have a meticulous attention to detail.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide general administrative support across the Development department, including in-office duties to support the department

• Support donor management and perform donor data entry for special projects

• Support the proper acceptance, recording, processing and acknowledgement of in-kind donations

• Process invoices and check requests for Development department expenses and maintain accurate documentation of all requests

• Coordinate workplace giving and matching gift campaigns, including researching new opportunities, initiating contact with prospects, completing registration, and contributing to accurate, thorough campaign record-keeping

• Act as the lead representative with workplace giving campaigns, including developing handouts and speaking to employee groups at their workplaces and through virtual presentations

• Schedule meetings and provide meeting management support, including coordinating logistics, presentations and reports for department meetings

• Collaborate with team members to plan special department events

• Assist in the maintenance of the departmental fundraising calendar and grant deliverables tracker

• Assist in the maintenance of the PETA Shop inventory tracker

• Provide research and outreach support for special projects

• Organize physical and digital Development files

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

 

Requirements

• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 3 year of related experience providing administrative support in a fast-paced environment

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as a willingness to learn new software

• Experience working with a donor database a plus

• Experience supporting a fundraising team a plus

• Collaborative working style with strong written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills

• Capable of prioritizing projects, meeting deadlines and multi-tasking

• Proven ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and decision making

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity

• Commitment to ending speciesism and defending the rights of all animals
