Our non-profit animal sanctuary is looking for help with the day-to-day care of 130+ rescued animals. The right individual for this position will have experience with and an affection for animals, strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work outside. This is a labor intensive job that requires self-motivated individuals with good work ethic and patience.

The individual we are looking for:

• works well independently, but is also a team player with good communication.

• is able to lift 50 pounds consistently.

• is highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and volunteers if needed.

• is accustomed to working in all types of weather conditions including rain.

• has the ability to follow written and verbal instructions easily and concisely.

• displays excellent observation skills.

• has experience working around animals including cows, pigs, goats, and chickens.

• has reliable transportation, clean driving record, and preferably experience driving with a trailer.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing appropriate care for animals. including feeding, watering, cleaning, and grooming.

• Preparing enrichment and daily medication.

• Monitoring and reporting any changed conditions of animals. Topically treating injuries and wounds.

• Restocking and organizing supplies.

• Possibly assisting with vet appointments or transports, hoarding cases, and events at the sanctuary.

Farm and rescue work is varied and depends on the animal needs and the season.

Positions available: Flexible hours.

4 hour shifts or 8 hour shifts.

Weekend or Weekdays part-time or full-time. Potential on-site living for right candidate after training and probationary period.

Pay is based on experience and skill level:

$11-$15 hourly to start depending on experience with opportunities for advancement after training.
