The Canvas is looking for a vegan cook to join our busy kitchen team.
You will be prepping, and cooking our fully vegan menu, baking our varied vegan cake selection, all whilst working efficiently and productively, sometimes on your own, adhering to health and safety guidelines in the kitchen.
Vegan cooking and baking experience is essential. You will need to be able to follow our recipes to bake cakes/brownies/loaves, and to frost cakes with buttercream.
You must be confident working independently, and also in a team. You will, eventually, be working alone occasionally to cover service, so must be able to do service and prep, quickly and efficiently.
Food Hygiene Level 2 an advantage (training will be given if not).
Must have good attention to detail, and be a team player comfortable communicating clearly with others to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen and liaising with the Front of House Team/counter when necessary.
Must be happy to work weekends, and be flexible with working hours; there are daytime and early evening shifts, and the team must be able to work both.
One role available at good starting rates of pay, with regular salary reviews based on performance.
Training will be provided, but those with kitchen experience are preferred.
