Viva! is seeking a talented and passionate Social Media & Media Coordinator – Food & Lifestyle to join our Vegan Recipe Club team. As the Social Media & Media Coordinator – Food & Lifestyle, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing our digital content strategy focused on promoting veganism, plant-based diets and sustainable food choices. Your creativity, passion for vegan food and digital marketing skills will help us inspire and engage a wider audience to adopt a compassionate and environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Location: Bristol HQ (full-time office-based position)

Hours: 35 per week

Holidays: 4 weeks plus 5 days at Xmas (plus bank holidays), increasing with length of employment

Salary (depending on experience): £23,000 to £26,000

Reports to: Head of Comms and Food & Cookery Manager

Responsibilities

Content Strategy and Planning:

  • Development and implementation of comprehensive digital content strategies for Viva!’s food and cookery campaigns, aligning with the charity’s mission and objectives
  • Creation of engaging, informative and visually appealing content centred around vegan food and recipes, cooking tips, meal plans and nutrition

Social Media Management:

  • Management of the food and cookery social media calendar, including the building and execution of digital media campaigns and scheduling of relevant content across all social platforms
  • Development, implementation and management of paid ads strategies
  • Engagement and curation of content across various social media platforms, including but not limited to Meta, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest
  • Monitoring of trends and identification of opportunities to reach new audiences, increase followers and drive engagement across all Vegan Recipe Club social media channels
  • Opportunity to travel for food reviews and collaborations

Content Creation:

  • Development of compelling and visually appealing content in different formats and sizes for all networks
  • Creation of captivating captions and interactive content pieces (stories, polls, questions) for all digital media posts, including the incorporation of relevant hashtags and emojis, while ensuring impeccable grammar and spelling
  • Production of engaging, high-quality cooking videos featuring vegan products, recipes, and food-related content

Influencer and Partner Collaborations:

  • Building and nurturing relationships with influencers, bloggers and content creators in the vegan and plant-based food space to amplify our message
  • Collaboration with external partners, organisations and brands to create joint promotional content that aligns with Viva!’s values, mission and campaigns

Marketing:

  • Support monthly Vegan Recipe Club email newsletter creation via MailChimp
  • Outreach and response to journalist, blogger and influencer enquiries to ensure promotion of Vegan Recipe Club brand and recipes in different media outlets
  • Support teams across the wider Viva! charity by assisting with campaigns, investigation marketing and events
  • Provide assistance to the VRC manager whenever needed
  • Be able to work autonomously, manage your own projects and workloads, and report back

Website and Blog Management:

  • Overseeing the content strategy and publication schedule for our food and cookery blog on the Vegan Recipe Club website
  • Creation and optimisation of blogs and news articles across the Vegan Recipe Club website
  • Ensuring that all content is search engine optimised and follows best practices for accessibility, readability and user engagement

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Tracking and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) related to content performance, social media reach, audience growth and engagement
  • Utilising data insights to inform content improvements, campaign strategies and audience targeting

Qualifications and Skills

  • A strong passion for veganism and vegan food
  • Proven experience in digital media management, social media and content creation
  • A passion for food preparation for social media
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to create engaging and persuasive content
  • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills with attention to detail and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Proficiency in using social media management tools, content creation software and video editing software
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Canva, Buffer, MailChimp and WordPress is advantageous
  • Ideally, experience and familiarity with SEO best practices across digital content management systems
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously
  • Creative thinker with an eye for design and visual aesthetics
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently with minimal input
