Wild Thing is a plant based cafe with social goals: To get more people eating veg – To reduce environmental impacts. – To fight food poverty. The cafe  serves a creative menu of nourishing but delicious food in the form of brunch, coffee and cake using seasonal, local ingredients. ​Job title: Plant Based Chef (part time)

We are looking for an experienced plant based chef who is passionate about vegetables and nutritious tasty food! You must work well individually, with the scope for working in a team as the business grows. The job will involve serving traditional breakfast and lunch dishes through unconventional , creative methods being 100% plant based with lots of gluten free, refined sugar free and raw options.

Key Skills:

Knowledge of plant based, raw and vegan diets.

Knowledge of various cooking methods.

Ability to follow all sanitation procedures and food hygiene procedure.


Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.

Preparing ingredients to use in cooking.

Cooking food in various appliances.

Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes.

Keep a sanitized and orderly environment.

Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.

Check quality of ingredients.

Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages, liaising with management.


Must have previously worked in a professional kitchen, preferably plant based , vegan or vegetarian.


An interest in veganism and a passion for plant based food is preferable, however not essential.
